This itinerary is ideal for those who would prefer to explore the country more independently.
BUENOS
AIRES 2 NIGHTS • NORTH WEST 7 NIGHTS • CALAFATE 3 NIGHTS • BARILOCHE 3 NIGHTS •
SAN MARTIN DE LOS ANDES 3 NIGHTS
Day 1: On arrival in Argentina, transfer to Loi Suites Recoleta. Afternoon private guided half day tour of Buenos Aires. Overnight at Loi Suites Recoleta.
Day 2: After breakfast, transfer to the domestic airport for flight to Jujuy. Collect vehicle at Jujuy airport and drive to Hotel Altos de la Vina for overnight.
Day 3: After breakfast, explore the area of the Humahuaca Valley including the ‘Cerro de Siete Colores’ (a hill with seven layered colours of stone), the villages of Purmamarca and Tilarca and he town of Humahuaca. Drive to Salta for overnight at Estancia Eaton Place.
Day 4: Explore the town of Salta or simply relax and enjoy the Estancia and its surroundings. Overnight at Estancia Eaton Place.
Day 5: After breakfast, drive south towards the Calchaqui Valley passing through the towns of Cachi and Molinos. Dinner and overnight at Bodega Colome .
Day 6: Spend the day exploring the Bodega and its surroundings. Many activities and tours are available. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Bodega Colome.
Day 7: After breakfast, continue south through the Calchaqui Valley, passing the villages of ngastaco and San Carlos. Arrive at the important wine producing town of Cafayate. Overnight at odega La Rosa (Michel Torino Winery).
Day 8: After breakfast, continue south towards Tafi del Valle, visiting the ruins of the ancient ilitary fortress at Quilmes en route. Also recommend to visit the Menhires National Park, an imposing testament to Paleolithic Man through images carved in stone. Overnight at Mirador del Tafi.
Day 9: An early start is required to drive to the airport at San Miguel de Tucuman. Leave the car at the airport and fly to Calafate via Buenos Aires. Upon arrival transfer to Hotel Kosten Aike. Remainder of day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel Kosten Aike.
Day 10:After breakfast, full day group excursion to Perito Moreno glacier. Opportunity to take a cruise on Lake Argentina to see the glacier close up (subject to weather). Overnight at Hotel Kosten Aike.
Day 11: Day at leisure to explore Calafate or take an optional full day excursion to Upsala Glacier (not included). Overnight at Hotel Kosten Aike.
Day 12: After breakfast, transfer to Calafate airport for flight to Bariloche. Collect vehicle at airport and drive to Llao Llao visiting the town of San Carlos de Bariloche enroute. Overnight at Hotel Tunquelen.
Day 13: After breakfast, drive to Cerro Tronador and Los Alerces where you can enjoy the lush
Lengas and Coigues forests. Overnight at Hotel Tunquelen.
Day 14: After breakfast, we suggest a boat trip along the Nahuel Huapi Lake. The boat departs
from the hotel’s pier and includes a visit to Victoria Island with its Arraynes forest (not included in the itinerary). Overnight at Hotel Tunquelen.
Day 15: After breakfast, drive to San Martin de Los Andes along the Seven Lakes route. Suggest to stop at Villa Angostura to explore the cascades in the area. Overnight at Hotel La Cheminee.
Day 16: After breakfast, drive through the Lanin National Park, visiting Lakes Huechulafquen and Paimún. Overnight at Hotel La Cheminee.
Day 17: After breakfast, drive to Quila Quina set amidst the towering Cordillera peaks, and the
Cerro Chapelco where you can enjoy the magnificent views. Overnight at Hotel La Cheminee.
Day 18: After breakfast, drive to San Martin de los Andes airport and leave vehicle there. Flight to
Buenos Aires. Upon arrival transfer to Loi Suites Recoleta for overnight.
Day 19: Day at leisure before late afternoon transfer to international airport for return flight.
