13 night British Columbia Self-drive Special...
Day 1 and 2 – Vancouver
On arrival in Vancouver transfer to your hotel and spend 2 nights at
Metropolitan Hotel.
Day 3 Vancouver to Whistler (122km/76mi)
This morning pick up your hire can and depart Vancouver along the scenic Sea to
Ski Highway to Whistler. Highlights along the way include the cascading Shannon
Falls and the Stawamus Chief Rock where climbers from all over the globe migrate
to climb the granite cliffs. Arrive into Whistler by early afternoon. Spend the
next 2 nights at Crystal Lodge.
Day 4 – Whistler Exploring
This charming alpine resort is nestled between world-renowned Whistler and
Blackcomb Mountains. Enjoy an extensive range of summer activities from golf on
one of the 4 championship designer golf courses, water activities on any of the
5 lakes or numerous rivers, to mountain top dining or just relax and enjoy some
of the many fine cafes, and restaurants if this European inspired alpine
village.
Day 5 – Whistler to Sunshine Coast (244 km/151 mi)
Return down the Sea to Sky highway to Horsehoe Bay and sail for 45 minutes on BC
Ferries to the Sunshine Coast. This scenic cruise takes you through fjord like
waters with mountains blanketed with virgin forests and glaciated peaks. At
Langdale disembark the ferry and drive the leisurely and stunningly scenic route
through virgin forests and coastal fishing villages to your accommodation for
the next 2 nights at the West Coast Wilderness Lodge.
Day 6 – West Coast Wilderness Lodge
The beautiful natural landscape of Canada's Pacific Coast will allow you to take
part in a host of outdoor adventures. The lodges well-trained guides work with
all ages to provide an unforgettable recreational experience or just sit back,
relax and enjoy the coast.
Day 7& 8 – Sunshine Coast to Quadra Island (78km/47 mi)
Today, travel north to Earls Cove for a 50 minutes BC Ferry ride to Saltery Bay
(not included). Continue following the coast to Powell River to board another BC
Ferry service across the strait of Georgia to Vancouver Island. Continue north
to Campbell River and your destination Quadra Island where you’ll spend the next
2 nights at Painters Lodge in a standard room.
Day 9 – Quadra Island to Tofino (225km/140 mi)
Depart Quadra Island on a short BC Ferry ride (Ferry Toll Included) to Vancouver
Island and head west to Tofino on the rugged West Coast. Spend the next 2 nights
at Middle Beach Lodge.
Day 10 – Tofino (Pacific Rim National Park)
You may wish to walk along the famed Long Beach, with its miles of pristine
sandy beach and pounding surf, or explore the rain forests on a selection of
well groomed trails or perhaps join a whale watch cruise.
Day 11 – Tofino to Victoria (313km/195mi)
Travel back to the East Coast of Vancouver Island and head south to Victoria.
Spend the next 2 nights at Oswego Hotel.
Day 12 – Victoria Exploring
Today is free to explore Victoria, with its turn of the century architecture,
British traditions such as high tea and shops full of woolens and china.
Day 13 – Victoria to Vancouver (69km/43 mi + ferry)
Leaving Victoria drive north to Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal for a 90 min Ferry
ride (Ferry Toll Included) to Tsawwassen. On board BC ferries enjoy the scenery
of the Gulf Islands as you cross the Strait of Georgia. From Tsawwassen continue
on to downtown Vancouver or to the airport and drop off your car.
