This week-long tour,
accompanied by a qualified Egyptologist throughout, is the perfect introduction
to the many and varied sights of Egypt. The tour combines a stay in Cairo, home
of the Great Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum, with a cruise on the Nile, taking
in the famous sights of Upper Egypt including the Valley of the Kings, the
Temple of Karnak and the Aswan High Dam.
Itinerary
Day 1 To Cairo:
Fly from London to Cairo with British Airways. Transfer to Le Méridien Pyramids
(Standard Room) for 2 nights. Subject to availability, upgrade to a Pyramid View
room for 2 nights for a supplement of £45 per person (twin share). (N)
Day 2 Cairo: Morning tour of Giza to see
the Pyramids and the Sphinx. After lunch in a local restaurant, take an
afternoon visit to the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, home to the treasures of
Tutankhamun’s tomb. (B, L)
Day 3 To Luxor: Early morning flight to
Luxor and transfer to the M/Y Mirage for a 4 night cruise. Morning visit to the
Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.
Afternoon visit to the Temples of Karnak and Luxor. Stay overnight in Luxor. (B,

Day 4 To Edfu: Sail to Esna and pass
through the Lock. Sail to Edfu and stay overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 5 To Aswan: Morning visit to the
Temple of Horus at Edfu. Afternoon cruise to Kom Ombo and visit the Temple of
Sobek and Haroeris. Late evening sail to Aswan and stay overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 6 Aswan: This morning visit the
Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae. This afternoon
take a felucca trip on the Nile. Stay overnight in Aswan. (B, L, D )
Day 7 To Cairo: Disembark this morning
and fly to Cairo. Stay overnight at the Fairmont Heliopolis. (B)
Day 8 To London: Morning transfer to the
airport. Fly from Cairo to London with British Airways. (B)

The Temple of Ramses II at Abu Simbel is one of the most impressive monuments in
Egypt. Set into the hillside, the site’s four statues are around 20 metres high
and remain as awesome today as they would have been at the time of their
construction, some 3,000 years ago. It is possible to include a visit to Abu
Simbel if flying to or from Aswan, or as a day trip whilst staying in Aswan.
Please note that due to flight restrictions, the maximum duration of your visit
will not exceed 1 hour. From £245per person.
TOUR + RED SEA
