RB made me and our choice of holiday feel important and special, with good communication for many months from the planning stage to a few days before departure. Our holiday, the arrangements from attending the special Adrea Bocelli concert in Tuscany went smoothly from start to finish. The Alfa Romeo car was a nice surprise upgrade!!!

We had an amazing time in Tanzania - chimp trecking in Mahale was hard work as involved 4-6hrs daily climbing through the jungle but very rewarding and an amazing experience .Got to see the chimps every day plus 3 other species of monkey and amazing scenery. Really special place and the camp and staff were incredible, journey to get there wasn't as long as we thought plus all very scenic. Lake was amazingly clear and great swimming and beach. Selous was really special as well- great experience doing water safaris for a change and the land safaris were very rich with game, literally a Giraffe or Lion round every bend! A beautiful area of Tanzania and much quieter than the Serengeti. Selous Safari Camp was good - lovely location on the river, well run and all staff very friendly. Nice swimming pool.  Ras Kutani very relaxing but would definitely recommend suites as cottages quite close together and not much difference in price.A ll expertly arranged as usual so thank you once again for all your attention to detail.

We arrived back from the Ice Hotel yesterday evening and drove back to Wales through the snow. !!! We have had a fabulous time. As you know, we were there 4 years ago so already knew what to expect. It's such a beautiful place. The night in the Ice Hotel was great . We had an ice room this time with ice tables and chairs !! The temperatures outside ranged from minus 25 to minus 32 whilst we were there so we obviously needed all the proper gear to be able to stay outside to look for the Lights. They didn't disappoint. We watched them ( on and off) between 22:00 and 13:45 am on Thursday evening. It was spectacular. Lots of camaraderie as we watched the Lights with several other people and Glyn passing his whiskey around !!!

We would like to thank you and the company for arranging a magical time for us. As Glyn said, "It was faultless". The itinerary / documentation was clear and concise and we liked the personal touch.  Many, many thanks again and hopefully we will be able to book another magical holiday again with you in the not too distant future.

Might sound like a silly comment but the process of booking this holiday was too easy - many thanks to David for that. I told him what I would like, he asked a few simple questions and the holiday was sorted! Unbelievably easier than dealing with some of my local travel agents. The ease of booking, useful advice, staff knowledge of the destination, rapid service and the "after sale" touches all resulted in a fantastic holiday.

The provision of the access to both airport lounges was great, and the executive transport to and from the airport. Friendly, helpful staff and the resort rep was helpful and pleasant.

[What made your holiday special] "Being met at the airport in Barbados and fast tracked through customs to the waiting car. The same at the end of the holiday, met at the airport and guided through check-in plus access to the executive lounges. The newly refurbed hotel was excellent as was the location. The island had just enough to do sightseeing wise and is a wonderful place to relax, as we did."

Hi Nathan

Just to let you know that we had a wonderful holiday in Barbados. We came back relaxed and refreshed. The Tamarind was excellent, in a great location and the whole 10 days just flowed wonderfully despite the odd shower or 20! There was just enough sightseeing to do, we hired a car for 4 days although 3 would probably have been enough as getting about by bus is so easy. I bumped into Judith Chalmers in a supermarket one day and got chatting and, ironically, was telling her about the wonders of Harrisons Cave. The same evening she was dining at The Cliff and so were we, although at their prices we only did it the once but it had to be done and it was well worth the experience. (Please tell me you know who Judith Chalmers is!! If not Alan will be able to tell you).

Carrier were an excellent company and we would highly recommend them so thank you for booking us with them. We had vouchers for the executive lounges both ways and they met us as we got off the plane and fast tracked us through passport control which was lovely.

Apart from a 2 and a half hour wait on the plane before we took off from Gatwick (don't ask!) we had a trouble free break. Oh I just remembered the 2 dozen mossi bites - for some reason they like me - but other than that it was wonderful.

We will call in again as soon as we have decided on our next venture.

Dear Nathan,

Thank you so much for arranging what was an amazing holiday for Mum and me. We enjoyed ourselves so much, and had the most wonderful time. Throughout the whole process you gave us an excellent and personalised service, and it was so reassuring to know that you were on the end of the phone to assist with our plans and any questions we had. We had such faith in you that it took any stress which we might have felt (booking to go to the Far East for the very first time!) out of the whole booking process, and allowed us to concentrate on the lovely time ahead of us!

Every element of the trip was so well catered for and went smoothly, so that when a private transfer had been scheduled, the car and driver were waiting there for us, and we were so well looked after. The experience of booking with Robert Broad, and indeed you personally, was so superior to any other experience I have ever had with a travel agency (most of which have been large chains where there really is no personal element to the service), and I can’t wait to book with you again!

As for the trip itself, you had managed to arrange so many lovely touches for us, and Mum and I are so grateful. At the Shangri-La, our upgrade to the Horizon Club Tower Wing made our stay even more special, and the complimentary cocktails and canapés each evening were such a lovely touch. We also had breakfast in the Horizon Club rather than downstairs each morning, and like everything else that really was a five-star service. All of the members of staff at the Shangri-La were so friendly and helpful, from Kumar, the Chef Concierge (who was really lovely and made a point of chatting with us every day) to the chamber maids who provided such an excellent service. The Horizon Club hostesses were so lovely, and we chatted with them at breakfast and each evening. Upon arrival we were given a special express check-in with our own hostess, where we were taken to our room personally rather than queuing at the desk, and presented with a birthday cake for Mum. The lovely hostess took a photograph of us with the cake, and a couple of days later it was waiting in our room as a present for Mum in a lovely frame.

If possible, the Banyan Tree on Bintan was even more amazing, and again upon arrival there was a lovely birthday cake waiting for Mum. We had a beautiful villa with an incredible view over the South China Sea, and our own hot tub and deck. The members of staff there were so warm and friendly, and they made us feel that all of the lovely things they did for us really was a genuine pleasure for them too. Every morning they made special "towel" animals and arranged them on the bed for us with fresh flowers, so we felt quite excited to return from breakfast to see what artistic creations awaited us that day! In the evening they brought us a bedtime snack, and prepared the room for us, plugging in insect repellent devices and tucking the mosquito nets around the bed just in case, and making us a bedtime drink if we were there. One evening they drew a bath and floated fresh flowers in the water, and we often had little tea lights placed around the room when we returned from dinner, which I really liked as I do love my candles! There were so many lovely touches. The waiters and waitresses were so friendly, and we chatted with them over meals. On our final morning after breakfast the entire team at the Treetops restaurant came out to take photographs with us (and even took pictures to keep themselves which we were really touched by). It was such a lovely resort that all of the guests received special service there, but I think we were certainly treated to the VIP works! We genuinely enjoyed speaking with them and so appreciated all of the lovely things they did for us, and I think that must have made them want to give us an even more special experience, as they really did.

Throughout the whole trip we were made to feel so welcome and special, (and that is not always the case when two women are travelling alone), so a big thank you from Mum and me to you personally Nathan, your team at Robert Broad, and indeed Carrier for giving us a truly special and memorable experience.

We have just returned from an excellent visit to Romania led by Dr Thomas Tuohy. The whole holiday was very well organised throughout and all the hotels and transportation (coach and train) were most comfortable. In addition to Thomas's expertise in art and architecture and his in-depth knowledge of the history of the Transylvanian and Moldavian Region, with its painted monasteries and medieval churches, we were fortunate to have with us an equally knowledgeable and fluent Romanian Tour Guide Ivanna Moisuc whose familiarity with the region's culture and its political background was very extensive. This is a country which we would not otherwise have thought of visiting on our own, so we are pleased that it was possible to do so in such good company.

Just a quick note to say a big thank you for all your organisation for our holiday. We had a great time, the heli-hiking was the highlight we think, something completely different and will never be likely to do again. The cruise was great too - saw killer whales, humpback whales, brown bears, seals and bald eagles. The scenery, especially in Glacier Bay was breathtaking.

Yet another winter break in the Canaries, but our first visit to Gran Canaria which soon became our favourite island.  Our Classic Collection rep, John, was very knowledgeable and our VIP minibus island tour should be a "must" for all visitors. The H10 Playa Meloneras Hotel provided us with a good variable menu, excellent and pleasant service and good entertainment.  Our only criticism was in respect of maintenance of lifts (several out of order) and certain electrical items. [Suggestions for our service]: How can you improve on perfection.

We're really glad you recommended the Shandrani in the south of Mauritius - it is really excellent in every respect. Le Mauricia in Grand Baie was pretty good but the drinks included in the package were only average & the service could be slow.

We had a lovely 2 weeks aboard the P&O ship Oceana. Oceana is known as the fun cruise ship and I can see why. The ship is beautiful and the services are first rate. We joined the ship in Acapulco, travelled down the Pacific coast line and through the Panama Canal into the Caribbean. The highlights were the cliff divers and the Panama Canal, but on the 2 day sea time out of Panama we were treated to a 2-3 hour spectacle by 2 pods of dolphins and sea birds as they hunted and played alongside the ship ... there was certainly no need to go on a dolphin watch after that. The weather was very good & hot, with temperatures every morning starting at 27 deg at 0700hrs ... and got hotter. The 'Footlight' entrtainers (singing & dancing) are of a very very high standard and they performed a number of different shows during the 2 weeks. Whilst we were in St Lucia there were 3 other cruise ships, one being Oriana. We had a 'sail off' with the Oriana, which is flag waving and singing. It was a lot of fun and the passengers on the other 2 ships did not seem to understand what was going on. The food in the restaurants was first class .... yes, we need to shed a few pounds. There were a couple of niggles:
1. When we arrived, we passed through the security checks but then found ourselves in the Atrium with no guidance on what to do next. As first time cruisers, and having been up for nearly 24 hours (14 hour flight) this was disappointing.
2. We were given forms early on to fill in for getting luggage labelled for leaving the ship, along with Immigration forms for disembarking in Barbados, but we were not given any details until the last night on how we could organise our last day. We were offered trips to go on, but no guidance on what was to happen to us during the day. This was important as we had to leave our cabin by 0900hrs but were not taken to the airport until 1445hrs.

Those 2 niggles aside, we found everything worked like clockwork. Would we cruise again ..... most certainly

We stayed at Cambridge Beaches from 26 Dec to 2 Jan 2010. The restaurant, food and service was very good and the room was very spacious with a beautiful view. The grounds were lovely with several beaches surrounding the hotel. However, in our opinion, housekeeping, who we had to contact on three occasions, left quite a bit to be desired. We did not think the room was as clean as it should have been for a hotel of this standard, and we felt the room should have been checked after servicing to maintain standards. However, we did enjoy our stay and Bermuda is still a very beautiful island.

We were very pleased with the service we received from Kirsty in particular and would definitely contact Robert Broad again when we are thinking of our next holiday.

We had an amazing holiday and Petra was even more stunning than I hoped it would be. We have never been on this sort of accompanied tour before and the organisation was impressive. Whisked through airports, luggage always with us, we had nothing at all to worry about. Our guide, Ramzi Samawi, was the icing on the cake-an expert in almost everything (especially geology) who made sure all in our party had a good time (we did have a couple of ladies who were quite immobile and he made sure they got as much from the trip as possible) Well done to all concerned and let the Jordanians have the feedback too.

A very enjoyable holiday. The hotel, Lido Caparena in Taormina Mare, Sicily was of a very good standard, one of the best we have stayed in, despite reservations being close to a railway line (50 metres). (The line was of no consequence, trains running maybe half hourly if that. If fact we found it rather fascinating!) The outdoor swimming pool was heated and we were provided with free towels. Food was good, and we had a beautiful view towards the sea from our balcony. (Definitely have a room with balcony/seaview because rooms at the front would be noisy because of the main road). Lisa emailed the hotel to ensure that we had two adjoining rooms. The staff at the hotel were very efficient and helpful. Thank you Lisa for all your help, time and advice.  [Suggestions for our service:] None. Your service was of the usual high standard and we will definitely carry on booking holidays with you.

Broadway plaza hotel was comfortable friendly and quiet, good value for money, but the area immediately in the vicinity lacked facilities, eg restaurants. Didn't matter to us, but some people might not like it. US Open tickets were good, we had a great week.

The Seine Cruise you organised for us with VFB Holidays and operated by Croisi-Europe really was excellent and appeared much better value than offerings from other companies. Apart from the meal on the first evening, which was a bit basic, food on the Rone Princesse shio was really excellent, with a generous breakfast buffet each morning and 3 or 4 course lunches and dinners. For a smallish river boat, our cabin was surprisingly spacious, with a large window giving extensive views of the passing scene. Our tour manager from VFB, Garry Smith deserves a pat on the back for excellent service, going out of this way to ensure we were well looked after. All in all it was a delightful holiday rounded off with a visit ot an interesting museum on the way back to the Gare du Nord in Paris. One improvement that VFB could make would be to send clients on a later train from London and avoid the two hour drive round Paris. Crosisi Europe boats are not ready for boarding until 6 pm, so our coach driver spent two hours + showing us the sights of Paris. I appreciate that first time visitors to Paris might enjoy this tour but for many of us, who had travelled by train to London and then on to Paris, all we wanted was to sit down with a cup of coffee and visit a toilet - neither of which was possible. Instead, we spent most of two hours sitting in afternoon traffic jams in central Paris. At least on the way back, having met Garry Smith the tour manger, he was able to tell us there would be toilets at the museum we were visiting and we had time to squeeze in a quick mid morning dup of coffee. Otherwise, the arrangements were so good we see no need or room for improvement.

The whole trip was excellent. I have to point out that Sandra looked after everyone very well. No doubt others may have mentioned it, one of the travellers cut his leg, Sandra stayed I understand throughout a long late visit at the hospital. She was very helpfull throughout the visit, beyond the call of duty. She also commentated on various things and kept us well informed. The hotel was fine and the breakfasts good. Something for everyone.

Having been invited to a wedding (and the rugby) in Pretoria we decided to make a holiday of it and see what else South Africa had to offer. With my "Rough Guide" to hand I started surfing the net for flights and information and came across Robert Broad Travel. I rang RBT and contacted Nathan asking his advice who then put together an itinerary for us.

The wedding was incredible, the rugby was great, even though we lost, and after four days of partying with our offspring, we set off for the Madikwe Game Reserve, staying at the Impodimo Game Lodge which was superb. We were lucky enough to see the big 5 and more, the highlight of our stay being a wild elephant visiting our swimming pool to drink (and I got the photo too!!!).

Off then to Port Elizabeth where our car was delivered to our hotel for our drive along the Garden Route to Knysna, where we visited the elephant rescue centre to ride on and walk with the elephants. We also watched the 3rd rugby test in Knysna!!! We stayed at Lake Pleasant Living for our next three nights with wonderful views over the lake and the friendliest staff we encountered throughout our entire trip.

Dropping the car off at George airport we then flew to Cape Town for the last leg of our travels, taking ourselves off on the local train along the coast to Simonstown, jumping on and off to eat fresh linefish for lunch. We stayed at The Portswood on the V&A Waterfront which was convenient for strolling back after watching the sun go down over the Atlantic and making a brilliant ending to our South African adventure. Thank you Nathan for the excellent arrangements, we had a wonderful trip.

It would be hard to improve such an excellent service, just keep doing what you're doing.

We would have liked to rate Kirker 'Very Good' but the option isn't there so 'Good' will have to do. Brugge was fantastic for us and the hotel super, if slightly expensive (£4 for a cup of tea), with helpful staff - especially when the lift broke down briefly with us in it !. However, being novices on the Eurostar, we could have used a little more instruction regarding the train interchanges at Bussels, e.g. the two names - midi and zuid - for the same station was a bit of a worry.

Brilliant holiday. Our 2nd visit to Oman and the Al Bustan Palace hotel. We wanted to go to guaranteed sunshine and to see how the hotel looked after it's recent multi million pound facelift. We weren't disappointed in either. Very high temperatures and cloudless skies  although we did appreciate the cool sea breeze when it came. Great meet and greet plus hotel transfer service (We were let down last time with a previous tour operator). We felt very special with the treatment we received.

We had two disappointments with our stay (clearly no fault of RBT as it was our specific choice of hotel). Firstly, the fact that due to only a small number of guests staying at the hotel, the evening buffet service had been withdrawn and the breakfast buffet became more depleted each day. The second matter was that the small beach bar that had previously been at the hotel had disappeared as part of the facelift. This had been really nice to use during the very hot mid-day period as it was good to take a break and chat with other guests over a drink. Our opinions on both these items were shared by several of the other guests we spoke to, who had also stayed there previously. This should not however, deter anyone from booking this hotel as it is superb. The infinity pool is fantastic and the new gym is very well equipped - yes we did use it despite the heat !! For anyone considering Oman as a holiday destination, they should take the plunge and book it (with RBT of course). The country is very clean, it's people are very hospitable, charming and sincere and there are some great trips to go on if you've still got any energy.
Suggestions to improve our service -
Not sure what else you can do. However to maintain the level you've reached will be some achievemnet in itself.

Hurtigruten Cruise - feedback received from client via email, June 2009
Many cruise lines visit the Norwegian Fiords but only Hurtigruten reaches the parts other ships do not reach. The 12 day Bergen – Kirkenes – Bergen trip goes well beyond the Arctic Circle. Among excursions  offered are visits to the North Cape, Trondheim and Gerainger, and you can even attend a midnight concert in Tromso Cathedral in broad daylight!. This is not your all-singing-all-dancing, black-tie, cruise. The eleven ships in the line are working coastal steam package vessels calling daily at over 25 ports around the clock, carrying cars, post and local passengers as well as providing very comfortable accommodation for the full cruise passenger.   Extend your tour with a couple of days in Bergen before or after the cruise and you will really experience the Land of the Midnight Sun.

A very enjoyabale holiday and accompanied by our excellent guide Soffian. Hotels - The Beit Zamman near Petra was disappointing.  The bedroom was very nice but the en suite was shabby - the shower screen did not fit properly and the trim was falling off - hence the floor flooded after each shower.  There was also black in the grout/mastik.  The food was average and alcohol very highly priced for small measures.  Obviously when wine etc is so highly priced you have the choice of not ordering any and we did just that as did many others on the tour.  However after one visit to Petra we went to the Crowne Plaza for a drink and that was much better value plus there were stunning views from the hotel and this is what we felt our hotel lacked.  However, the staff at our hotel couldn't have been more helpful. The Kempinski on the Dead Sea is a beautiful hotel but with food and drink so very very expensive we spent more in those 2days/1 night than we had the rest of the holiday.  We were very pleased we had not extended our stay. The whole organisation of the holiday was very well done.
Our comments - We have now changed the hotel that we use from the Beit Zamman to the Crowne Plaza for all future trips we sell to Jordan.

The Hotel Val Chaviere in Val Thorens was excellent.  The staff were very friendly and our party were made to feel at home.  The position of the hotel for the slopes and town centre could not have been better, you could literally ski in and out of the hotel.  Was not very impressed with the Inghams Ski Reps, they could have made themselves more known.  We had all been skiing before but if it was your first time more help and advise would have been needed.  All in all we had a great time and would go back again.

Just returned from the ice hotel. All I can say is "Wow! what a holiday". It was an experience like no other. The first night we stayed in an ice room, incidentally, I slept like a log, then the remainder of the holiday in warm accommodation. The staff were very helpful and always polite and spoke really good English. We went on the reindeer safari, snowmobile ride to see the northern lights and a dog sled ride. The guides were very knowledgeable and was always ready with an answer to any questions that was fired at them. We sampled the local food, reindeer,  moose and salmon which was always cooked to perfection. My only disappointment was that when we went on the snowmobile trek in search of the northern lights, we didn't see any, but after a dish of moose stew, a cup of ligonberry juice and a slice of cake it didn't seem to matter that the northern lights were being a bit elusive. We did see a glimpse of them another night, albeit a green light in the sky for a few minutes,  With the temperatures between -5c to -15c we definitely needed the ski suits that were supplied. I would recommend that you take advantage of the ski suit and boots supplied. Glad of them on the dog sled and snowmobile. We really enjoyed ourselves and couldn't begin to describe how privledged we felt in being there. I was surprised to learn that there wasn't a bureau de change at the ice hotel complex. The nearest bank was in Kiruna 20k away. Direct flights may be an advantage if this is at all possible too.This was only minor blip and I can only thank you for being so helpful in  booking our tours and making our holiday go without a hitch.

We have had a fantastic holiday - relaxing for us and fun for our 10 year old daughter who just loved the warm sea and the fish. We last visited Bermuda 13 years ago on our honeymoon and loved it and returning this time with our daughter we were not disappointed. Kirsty's advice to choose the Pompano Beach Hotel was spot on - can't fault the quality of service or friendliness. As a fairly small hotel they get to know you and nothing is too much trouble for the staff - whether it's shuttling you to the ferry or bus stops or dealing with hairdryers that won't work - any little thing was quickly and courteously dealt with.

We found the food to be excellent - good choice of menu in the Cedar Room which changes nightly - and they were happy for our daughter to mix and match courses off the main and children's menus.

Charging drinks, food bus tokens etc to the room was really useful - our daughter loved being able to get a drink from the beach bar without money (we now need to remind her that things do cost money!).
All in all a lovely, relaxing beach holiday with no hassle anywhere along the line.

Dubai holiday, staying at the Madinat Dar al Masyaf, feedback received July 2008
Dar al Masyraf in Dubai. Superb accommodation, facilities and service. Location was excellent too - beautiful beahk right outside villa room. Lots of different restaurant options within the resort. Abra boats particularly enjoyable to use to get from A to B within the resort. Only downside was that the weather was too hot and steamy to spend time outdoors other than getting quickly to and from air-conditioned buildings. Would definitely come back for a week at another time of year. Malls and markets good.

Hated flying with Ryanair - even though we had paid for priority boarding so had everyone else, and then everyone piles onto the bus and it is a bun-fight to get seats, dreadful experience. Bermuda holiday, feedback received June 2008
Bermuda as promised was a paradise, Pompano Beach ideal, it's own beach, so only travel required was sightseeing. It is some way from the main road but the hotel ran you to nearest bus stop or ferry point on demand, willingly, you were not made to feel like it was a chore.  The roads are very busy, bus and ferry services are great with no need to hire scooters and probably best advised to avoid with roads so busy, although they do drive on the left. Americans have a real problem! and regularly have accidents. All drinks, lunches and hire of kayaks, snorkels etc. are signed to the room and service charge added, therefore no cash needed in hotel, and no need to worry about tipping. Very friendly staff you feel like part of an extended family. Food was wonderful with good choice. Rooms very comfortable everyone with a view, air conditioned, and welcoming bottle of wine in the fridge!! You really can walk out to the reef and the fish visible just with goggles is amazing. Great service all done over the phone, brilliant.

We had a wonderful time, everything went very well, and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his surprise break. His only disappointment was that Ferrari did not win the Grand Prix.

Excellent cross-country skiing from just outside the door of our Kanerva suite at Akas Hotel. The ski runs are well maintained and well signposted. The equipment hire and ski lessons also excellent, our instructor was patient and knowledgeable. Plenty of good food but perhaps dinner at 17.00 to 19.00 is a little early. Well run trips, always left on time and well managed. Our highlight was to see the Northern lights at last !!We stood on a frozen lake lit by a full moon and saw the star-filled sky light up in brilliant shades of green, unforgettable.

We booked to go to the 50th Running of the Daytona 500. A once in a lifetime trip that was excellent. The service received from Robert Broad travel was fantastic. We would definitely use you again. It was at your suggestion that we go to Iberostar.  We were delighted with the hotel, it's staff and food.  I would recommend anyone contemplating visiting the Dominican Republic to stay at this hotel.  First Choice Airline was also very good, departed and arrived on time.  Upgrade to Premier Class is well worth the extra money.

We had a fantastic holiday right from the outset.  The flight crew both on our outbound and inbound flights were friendly and courteous and made the start of our holiday!  The reps who met us at the airport were excellent, the transfer to the hotel was smooth and comfortable and on a quality coach.  Once reaching the hotel we were met by quite honestly one of the friendliest nation of people we have had the pleasure of meeting. The Mexican people are so warm and friendly and cannot do enough for you. This extends from the Manager of the hotel right through to the chambermaids.  The hotel was immaculate and the food was second to none!  I would like to thank Nathan as this was his recommendation and he did not disappoint us. I would also like to thank Thomson for making this the best holiday my wife and I have had.

One word - superb! Having given you the remit for 2 people who don't do beach holidays and have never been to Spain...."make us an offer", the location (hotel and community) appeared to be second to none compared with the "reputation" of Costa Del Sol and for that matter what we saw of other resorts along the coast and for that matter to the west of us in Nerja around the Hotel Monica.

MARVELLOUS RETURN FOR HEROES

Having recently returned from India, I thought some of your older readers, who like me, served out there during the war, may be interested. The scheme was financed with funds from the lottery, named 'Heroes Return'. This was to enable anyone who served abroad, between 1939 and 1945, the opportunity to have a return visit.

Unfortunately, we were not able to visit Kohima or Imphal due to the unrest and safety in this area. We decided we would go to Calcutta and Darjeeling to have a ride on what is now known as the 'Toy Train' which we had been on in 1945.

The railway travels through the foothills, climbing to 8,000ft, taking four hours to do the journey into Darjeeling.

The last steam engine which is still working today was built in Glasgow in 1896.

We spent 11 days between the two places and had a very good time, although after 60 years, we could not remember anything.

I would like to say thank you to Robert Broad Travel of Lichfield who arranged this trip for us. First class all the way.

We want to thank you for organising our wonderful holiday in the Shangri-La, Muscat. Your advice when making our decision on the hotel was helpful and the hotel itself was excellent. We have stayed in some lovely hotels around the world and the Shangri L El Jissah resort certainly ranks amongst the top in terms of comfort, facilities, ambience and most importanly, service. Our room was quite large, extremely comfortable with a very good bathromm and an evening drink on the balcony was extremely pleasurable. The Spa is lovely. On your advice we stayed in the 'middle' one of the 3 hotels. This was perfect. I don't think we'd have liked the family hotel, there were a lot of children there and the position on the beach is probably preferable to Al Husn. We did eat there twice in the excellent Moroccan restaurant. We rate the total experience as 10/10!!
