the name would suggest, this brand new hotel is located in the historic
centre of the city and it opens on 1st April 2005.
Partly a new construction and partly a faithfully converted building dating from 1764, the Centrum will have a special feature – underneath the hotel will be a museum built around uncovered archaeological remains from 871 - the oldest in Iceland! The 89 spacious rooms will feature quality furnishings and an elegant décor – with private facilities (bath and/or shower), hair dryer, satellite TV, radio and telephone, internet connection, in-room safe, mini-bar and tea and coffee making facilities. There will also be a quality restaurant serving a buffet breakfast and fine Icelandic cuisine. Other features will include a very comfortable lounge on the first floor and a charming café/bar.
