Superjeeps are
specially modified four wheel drive vehicles, with high ground
clearance, huge tyres and the latest safety and navigation equipment
that mean they can travel just about anywhere. For many Icelanders, the
Superjeep is an obsession and an inextricable part of Iceland’s modern
culture.
|
|
| For visitors the excitement
lies in knowing that you will be traveling where conventional vehicles
simply cannot go, as well as seeing the wilder side of the island, which
during winter, can be covered in snow and ice. Studded tyres give good
traction on ice, while reduced air pressure in the tyres allow the
vehicles to glide through deep snow, rather than sink into it.
Spend the two full days exploring wile and out of the way
places in these incredible vehicles and discover the remarkable and
dramatic landscapes that make Iceland unique. You'll also visit some of
Iceland's most famous sights, including Geysir geothermal area, Gullfoss
waterfall and the fabulous Blue Lagoon. At the end of each day, you'll
return to Reykjavik, Iceland's lively capital, where the evenings are
free to relax, and perhaps enjoy the nightlife or dine out at one of the
city's fine restaurants.
Each Super Jeep seats 4-6 people and often several
vehicles will travel in convoy for safety. The exact route taken each
day will depend on the weather, snow an dice conditions but wherever you
go in the hands of these expert drivers, you can be sure of a thoroughly
exciting, enjoyable and safe time. |

Day 1: |
fly from UK to Keflavik, where on arrival, the Superjeeps

Reykjavik and your hotel. Evening at leisure. |
