Experience a taste of India on this outstanding introductory tour of the
country's most famous sights. Exploring the 'Golden Triangle', this journey
combines historic Delhi with the legendary Taj Mahal at Agra, the Pink City
of Jaipur and a stay at a royal mansion in Rajasthan.

Day 1 To Delhi:
Fly from London to Delhi with Jet
Airways. (N) |

Day 2 Delhi:
Arrive in Delhi and transfer to the
InterContinental Eros (or similar) for 1 night. Afternoon tour of
Old Delhi, including the Red Fort, Jama Masjid Mosque and Raj Ghat.

Day 3 To Agra:
Morning tour of New Delhi, including
India Gate and the former Viceregal Residence, both fi ne examples
of British Imperial architecture. Continue to the tomb of the Mughal
Emperor Humayun and the Qutb Minar tower. Afternoon drive to Agra
and stay for 2 nights at the Mughal Sheraton (or similar). (B)

Day 4 Agra:
Early morning visit to the Taj Mahal in time
for sunrise. After breakfast, visit the tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah and
Agra Fort. Optional excursion to the Taj Mahal at sunset (payable
locally). (B) |

Day 5 To Bharatpur:
Morning drive to the deserted
sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri. Continue to the former royal
mansion of the rulers of Bharatpur, Laxmi Vilas Palace, for 1 night.
Afternoon visit to Deeg Palace, which was once the summer resort of
the rulers of Bharatpur. Evening cultural show and dinner. (B, D)

Day 6 To Jaipur:
Optional early morning excursion to
Keoladeo National Park. After breakfast, continue to the Pink City
of Jaipur. Stay at the Rajputana Sheraton (or similar) for 2 nights.
Afternoon visit to the ancient fort palace of Amber. (B)

Day 7 Jaipur:
Morning visit to the City Palace,
home of the present Maharaja. Afternoon at leisure to relax or
explore Jaipur’s many bazaars. (B) |

Day 8 To Delhi:
Drive to Delhi via the beautiful
palace at Samode, a fine blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture.
Following a sightseeing tour and lunch (optional), continue to
Delhi. Overnight at the InterContinental Eros (or similar). (B)

Day 9 To London:
Morning transfer to the airport. Fly
to London with Jet Airways. (B) |
