Set in 10 acres of lush, sub-tropical gardens with breathtaking views of Funchal Bay, the elegant and world-famous Reid’s Palace offers impeccable standards of courtesy and service.
All 164 guest rooms including 34 suites have cable TV/video, safe, mini-bar, air-conditioning, most have balconies and are seafacing with views to Funchal Bay or the gardens. There are three different twin room categories: Classic rooms mostly main building and renovated, Superior and Premier rooms which are slightly larger and have better views, many also renovated. Suites naturally are also available.
The restaurants include the Garden Room for buffet breakfast and the poolside buffet for lunch. The Dining Room is used for formal table d’hôte dinner (four course Half Board) as well as an à la carte service which is also offered in the al fresco restaurant Brisa do Mar. The informal Villa Cipriani within the grounds serves Italian specialities for dinner. All serve cuisine of international standard and Reid’s culinary expertise should delight even the most discerning gourmet.
In the evening gentlemen are kindly requested to wear a jacket and tie in the Dining Room. The Dining Room and the Cocktail Bar have live music every evening. Other amenities include snooker/billiards, bridge room, a beauty centre La Prairie and a hairdresser. Scheduled complimentary shuttle bus to town.
A wide range of leisure facilities are offered including sauna, massage, aerobics, gym, two tennis courts, table tennis, two delightful heated swimming pools on the garden level and an unheated pool by the sea with bathing terraces.
“Fun at Reids” is a childrens club with a pool and programme of supervised activities (3-12 yrs).
