Standing in substantial grounds facing the sea the Savoy is an hotel which combines great charm, traditional style and excellent service, with wide ranging facilities to suit guests every need. All 337 double glazed, air-conditioned bedrooms are attractively furnished with bathrobes, hairdryer, cable TV, mini-bar, safe (at a charge) and a balcony with either sea or side sea view or inland views. The Sports Park offers petanque, shuffleboard, giant chess, mini-golf and golf driving net, all free. The heated indoor pool is a superb alternative to the outdoor heated pool. Facilities at sister hotel Royal Savoy (linked by a footbridge) are available to Savoy guests including sea access. The ground floor restaurant Cupula offers guests a full à la carte menu or a choice of the daily theme buffet or the Chef’s daily recommendation for all guests on HB. Half board guests may also upgrade to the Fleur de Lys Grill (with a credit) or a “dine around” at the Royal Savoy Galley Restaurant at no extra charge. For more informal meals, try the Library Garden with service in a cosy library come flower garden atmosphere. There is nightly entertainment in the cocktail bar or Cupula restaurant and weekly kitchen and garden tours and a classical evening in the elegant Noble Room. Other facilities include several shops within the hotel, a hairdresser, library and spacious lounges. The centre of Funchal is about 1 km away but there are shops and restaurants nearby.
