Why we love this tour
- a number of reasons...some tours to St
Petersburg don't necessarily include entrance to the Palace's for example and so
if you want to make the most of your time this is perfect. Your tour
leader is a history and art expert, not just a local guide. You are also
escorted from your departure airport and home again. Accommodation is in
an excellent location near St Isaacs cathedral and you can even upgrade your
hotel if you wish (we recommend the Astoria!). Whilst there may be cheaper
tours out there, you really to get what you pay for and we highly recommend this
special art / culture tour.
Tour introduction - How
better to do this than to build a new city at the end of the Baltic Sea. Peter
himself lived in a simple wood cabin as his city was built around him and today
the legacy of his ambitions and achievements are displayed in abundance.
Monumental buildings of state, great churches and Cathedrals, ornate theatres,
legendary art collections, the buildings lining its canals and streets and a
unique atmosphere all add up to create one of the most rewarding experiences for
modern day visitors.
